Pristine UK Auction Kit, 2012

On June 22, 2012, the International Business Times (Nicholas Edmondson) reported on a pristine '19th century vampire kit' headed for auction (Tennants of Yorkshire), expected to sell for about 2,000.

The kit features two levels of content housed in a mahogony case. The contents included:

  • Percussion-cap pistol
  • Crucifix
  • Rosary
  • 2 bottles labelled 'holy water'
  • 1 bottle labelled 'holy earth'
  • Wooden Mallet
  • 1857 Book of Common Prayer
  • Stakes

  • Believed to be a sort of victorian tourist kit, it came from a home in Leeds which reportedly contained two other kits. The elderly resident reportedly had a long interest in the occult and mysticism.

The piece attracted wide attention after being featured on the Today Show within the same week.
