About Vincent Price

Vincent Price began as an up-and-coming leading man in such 1940's films as 'Laura.' Soon, however, his ability to depict smooth menace was discovered, and he became a lynchpin of the horror genre. Films like Castle's 'House on Haunted Hill' represent an early peak, while the later 'Dr. Phibes' films show how he was able to have fun at horror.

Price is still best known for his AIP adaptations of Poe's works, but he was also a gourmet cook and a serious art collector. If you want to see his head blow up, rent 'Dead Heat,' with Treat Williams. He will be missed.
